The real deal
As a blogger, the work never stops. There’s always some coffee cup to photograph, always the need to find a cool angle for a new Insta post (or snapchat) and always a bit of a pressure to look polished. But do we always – like ‘always always’ – look super styled and ready to walk any red carpet anywhere? No. Of course not! Most of the times when writing: I look like a tramp high on caffeine with unbrushed hair tied up in a messy bun. I think it’s because I work from home, so…when I have a write day (meaning: spending at least 10 hours behind the screen, drinking 10 cups of coffee and disable all push notifications on my phone) why should I care how I look? Yoga pants, no bra and no make-up, that’t the only way to go.
But. During weekends, dinner and other occasions when the cam of my photographer isn’t looking…I also absolutely pay extra attention to my looks. Maybe a little more now I’m running a fashion blog, but also before seaofbeesnyc.com: fashion was my thing. I guess it’s in my genes or something. Anyhow, my daily looks are far more easy-peasy than the ones I style for my lookbooks. But why not share those once in a while? I believe in keeping it real (not too real, so excuse me for not sharing the tramp-unbrushed-hair-look photos) and I have quite some casual material shot by my BF. Here’s a few from last month, let’s hope next month I’m sharing bare legs and floral dresses when spring finally kicked in!
Blue on black
It’s not that many seasons ago when blue on black was one big fat fashion fault. But, times has changed and ripped black jeans and knitted dresses in blue are definitely in the favorite corner of my closet.
Denim and fringes
Fringes are totally ‘it’ at the moment. Lots of blogger-queens love to double their fringes (meaning: fringing it top and bottom). But, on a simple day I love my fringes on a denim with sneaker and a simple black T.
Oh yes I love to steel from my BF’s closet. Roll op the sleeves, tuck it in a bit and you’re good to go on a sunny Sunday.
Leather on leather
On the photo, it’s not really super clear, but this is a dark blue leather skirt with my leather jacket. I think this skirt is the best for a walk around town. Sometimes I feel leather on leather can be a bit too biker, but with the classic lines of this skirt…it’s totally okay.
What are you wearing on a casual day? Would love to hear, so scroll down to the comments below and share your view on this topic. Oh and..thank you for following seaofbees, I really appreciate it super super super super much!
