Excited photographers to get the perfect shot, over-excited fashion peoples to be on that shot and all that clicking of camera’s form a jumpy but at the same time tranquilizing melody. The buzz, the people, the famous square, it’s all part of the perfectly styled chaos called Fashion Week. Lincoln Centre has been taken over by posing over-the-top fashionista’s, designer accessories, external flashes and I am so very happy to be a part of that this time.
At Colombus Circle I finally stepped out of the underground – after missing it at first and ending up almost above Central Park – guess I’ll never learn the NY underground system– and walked down Columbus Avenue. From that point on, the fashion parade begins to show. Fashion girls crossing streets, camera’s ready to shoot and I feel a rush taking over. I don’t know if I’m nervous or super excited, but I’m glad I played it safe on this first day: black boots, black dress.
Since a few months I have this thing with my boyfriends wardrobe or items inspired by boyfriends’ wardrobes. Combined with the ‘all-black’ I have in mind, this tuxedo-not-for-men is the perfect item to start NYFW. The first day – it’s actually not ‘the’, but only ‘my’ first day since I couldn’t refuse a weekend in Miami’ sun – at Lincoln square felt a little bit new. And to hide my indefinable – nervous, not nervous, nervous, not nervous- state of mind, I decided to put on my shades and hope to find my photographer soon. After a few shots I totally got blended in this thrilling scenery and we shot some awesome photo’s. I met the greatest people and although today was a total energy killer..I now understand this whole Fashion Week buzz. And…it’s an addictive one. In bed, I’m already deciding on what to wear for the day of tomorrow…because we’re going again. Hip hip hurray!
don’t hesitate to leave a comment, have a great day and…keep on following this journey
